Kara Foshay PhD

Director of Biopharma and Medicine Programs, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Kara is a cell biologist with expertise in stem cells, epigenetics, and personalized medicine from Georgetown University, the University of Chicago, and Inova Health, where she previously ran a translational neuro-oncology lab. Kara joined the Foundation in 2020 and is a leader of the Foundation’s internal and external efforts to identify and develop genetic therapies for CF. She is passionate about providing accurate and understandable education on genetic therapies to the CF community. Outside of work, Kara is a mom of two, an aspiring chef, and an avid runner.
